All community pharmacies must first be approved by Medicare in order to obtain a PBS approval number, before they are able to dispense and claim payment for prescriptions of Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) drugs.

How do I apply?
Application for Approval - Relocation of a Pharmacy, Section 90 forms are submitted to your relevant state office of Medicare to be heard by the Australian Community Pharmacy Authority (ACPA) at one of their monthly meetings. Applications must be made to comply with one of the relocation rules outlined in the ACPA Pharmacy Location Rules Applicants Handbook. Your application to Medicare, is to include all evidence and documentation to support your application prior to the hearing date, including a letter from the Landlord of legal right of entry.
What is a Section 90?
Application for Approval - Relocation of a Pharmacy, Section 90 is the application form used to apply for the relocation of a PBS number. It needs to be completed firstly by the vendor and secondly by the purchaser. Raven's will issue this form to the vendor to complete and then provide it to the purchaser to complete and submit.
What must I have in place before I can put in an offer to purchase a PBS Number?
Before a Purchaser submits an offer to purchase a PBS number, they must be able to demonstrate to Raven's Business Services and the Vendor of the number that they have a LEGAL RIGHT OF ENTRY to the proposed premises where they are relocating the number. FINANCE must also be in place as the purchase of a PBS number cannot be subject to finance.
